Course Description:
Welcome to Life Skills! This course equips you with essential knowledge and tools to navigate adulthood confidently. We will delve into critical areas like personal finance, career planning, effective communication, time management, healthy living, responsible housing, and active citizenship. Through interactive activities, engaging discussions, and practical exercises, you will develop the skills and confidence to manage your finances, plan your future, and contribute meaningfully to your community.
Course Objectives:
- Become Financially Astute: Develop budgeting strategies, manage debt effectively, understand financial products, and plan for long-term financial goals.
- Navigate Your Career Path: Identify your strengths and interests, explore career options, build a compelling resume and cover letter, and master job interview skills.
- Communicate with Confidence: Express yourself clearly and persuasively in various settings, actively listen to others, and navigate conflict constructively.
- Master Time Management: Prioritize tasks efficiently, overcome procrastination, manage distractions, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle: Make informed choices about your physical and mental well-being, understand healthy habits, and access available resources.
- Live Responsibly in Your Community: Understand housing options and tenant rights, manage finances while renting, and actively participate in community initiatives.

Grading Scale:
The Citizens High School grading scale is as follows:
- A: 100% - 90%
- B: 89% - 80%
- C: 79% - 70%
- D: 69% - 60%
- F: Below 60%
Students who earn an A in a course have demonstrated superior mastery of the material. Students who earn a B have demonstrated solid mastery of the material. Students who earn a C have demonstrated satisfactory mastery of the material. Students who earn a D have demonstrated minimal mastery of the material. Students who earn an F have not demonstrated mastery of the material.
The grading scale is used to evaluate student progress and to determine whether students have met the requirements for a course. Students who do not achieve passing grades may be subject to academic probation or dismissal.
